Privacy policy
This is a translation for convenience. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally binding.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Kevin KlockzinLindenstraße 4
96117 Memmelsdorf, Germany
Email: kevin@violondio.com
I have not appointed a data protection officer, as the legal requirements for doing so are not met.
2. General
This policy applies to the website www.violondio.com. The web application at app.violondio.com is a separate service; different data is processed there for different purposes. Until a separate policy for the web application is published, section 9 describes the processing it links to.
I only process personal data to the extent necessary to operate this website. Data is only passed on to third parties where stated in this policy.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by lima-city, a service of TrafficPlex GmbH, Konsul-Smidt-Str. 90, 28217 Bremen, Germany. The servers are located in Germany.
On my behalf, the host processes the data that is technically generated when you visit this website (see section 4). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably.
4. Server log files
When you visit this website, information transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically:
- page requested and time of access
- amount of data transferred and whether the request was successful
- browser type and version, operating system
- referrer URL
- IP address
This data is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free operation and security of the website. Log files are deleted automatically after a short period.
5. No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and embeds no third-party content. That is why there is no cookie banner.
6. Fonts
The fonts Fraunces and Inter are served locally from this server. There is no connection to third-party servers, in particular not to Google Fonts.
7. Contact by email
If you send me an email, I process the data you provide — usually your name, email address and the content of your message — solely to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). I delete this data once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
8. Links to the web application
The buttons for registering and logging in lead to app.violondio.com. This is a separate service (see section 9). Data is only processed there once you open that address.
9. Web application app.violondio.com (interim provision)
The web application will receive its own, more detailed privacy policy. Until it is published, this section describes the processing that the web application links to. The web application is operated in the EU (Laravel Cloud, Frankfurt am Main region; database at Neon, in the same region). It sends emails via Brevo; a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Brevo.
9.1 Workshop directory: source of the data
For logged-in musicians, the web application shows a directory of instrument-making workshops. In addition to registered workshops, it contains entries I have taken from publicly available sources, currently the exhibitor catalogue of Cremona Musica 2025. The data processed is the name or company, town, postcode, country, website and specialisation. The email address listed in the catalogue is stored internally only, to verify requests to claim or remove an entry; it is not displayed. The entries are visible only to logged-in users, not publicly and not to search engines.
The purpose is to help musicians find a workshop and to offer the workshop the option of claiming its profile. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in a directory that is as complete as possible for musicians.
You can object to this processing at any time and have your entry removed at app.violondio.com/verzeichnis/entfernen, or informally by email to kevin@violondio.com. To make sure your entry is not added again in a later update, I then keep only an irreversible hash of the email address plus the workshop's name and country on a block list. Alternatively, you can claim your entry at app.violondio.com/verzeichnis/beanspruchen. Whatever you enter in these two forms is processed solely to handle your request.
9.2 Bug reports
Logged-in users can send me a bug report via “Report a bug”. I process the text of the report, the account's name and email address, the account type, the page the report was sent from, browser and screen size, the selected language and the version of the web application. The purpose is to understand and fix errors; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The report is also sent to me by email. I delete reports once the error has been fixed and they are no longer needed, at the latest after twelve months.
10. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
An informal message to kevin@violondio.com is sufficient.
11. Right to lodge a complaint
Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
12. Changes to this policy
I update this privacy policy when the legal situation or the service changes. The version published at the time of your visit applies.
